Three times BTCC Champion and current Halfords Yuasa Honda driver, Matt Neal has yet again stepped up to the plate in supporting the UK’s Armed Forces and Veterans by ssigning the Armed Forces Covenant.
Over the past two years, Matt has selflessly dedicated himself to supporting Veterans by becoming Patron of the Sandbag Times Veterans magazine and the Tommy Atkins Veterans Centre. A role in which he has never been shy to show his dedication in supporting those who defend our country.
He regularly visits the Worcester Veterans Centre to chat with the ex-servicemen recovering from their traumatic experiences. In addition to his local connections, he will be attending the English Veterans Awards in September to present the Team Dynamics and SBT Award for Veterans Business of the Year at a prestige event celebrating the many acievements by the Ex-Armed Forces community.
The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise by the nation ensuring that those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly. It was implemented by the government in 2011 with the intention to encourage local authorities, businesses, and the communities to get involved in local projects in the support of our forces and veterans.
The SBT and Brits on Tour will be actively promoting the Covenant at the next round of the BTCC at Thruxton and encouraging teams to follow the example of Matt Neal and Team Dynamics following the request in our previous issue.
The Armed Forces Covenant campaign at Thruxton will be made extra special as the Hampshire circuit is situated in the middle of Salisbury Plain Training Area (SPTA) and close by to many major military Garrisons such as Tidworth, Bulford, Perham Down and, just a few miles away, Middle Wallop, the home of the Army Air Corps.
