Halfords Yuasa Racing duo Matt Neal and Dan Cammish are all signed up with the outfit and ready to hunt for titles in the 2019 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship.
The current generation Honda Civic Type R (FK8) impressed in its maiden campaign in 2018, with the Team Dynamics-backed outfit striding to second in the Manufacturers’ and Teams’ running.
Three-time champ Neal, 27 years a BTCC driver, took the FK8’s first win at Thruxton back in May but the highlight of his season was victory in the extended distance, celebratory 60th anniversary ‘Diamond Double’ race at Snetterton mid-way through the year.
“Last year we got to understand the car really well and made some changes over the winter to make it even stronger,” said Neal. “I’m hungry to get my fourth BTCC title so I’ll be going all guns blazing with Dan to secure the Teams’ and Manufacturers’ Championships first and then hopefully be in a position to take the Drivers’ mantle.”
Cammish quickly adapted to the car in his debut season, having made the step into the BTCC from the rear-wheel drive 911s he steered to top honours in Porsche Carrera Cup GB. The 29-year-old signed off a solid year with two race wins on the final race weekend at Brands Hatch, having secured the Jack Sears Trophy at Silverstone.
