Up to Scotland for the next round of the Dunlop MSA BTCC 2018.
It’s definitely been a bit of a mixed bag of results for our lads so far. But A long day awaits us and with the forecasted downpours that are set to soak the track, anything can happen.
Firstly, a huge well done to Dan Cammish for his first Pole. I believe everybody in Team Dynamics, Honda BTCC and Halfords Yuasa were holding their breath in the final moments of qualifying hoping that there would be no reasons for the lap not to stand. Even poor Dan stayed in his car until the last possible moment to ensure there were no mistakes. We all hope Dan can turn the Pole into a victory. How momentous would it be for him to win in the country of the great driver he replaced, Gordon Shedden (did I say that right?).
Unfortunately for our Matt, the places were not his friend in qualifying only managing to bag 21st but write him off at your peril. We all know the potential of this BTCC legend, he will be looking to get himself back up the sharp end from the off. Matt is a total king of cutting through the field and I expect this will happen today. Despite his placing, we must take into consideration that from 21st to pole was only .6 of a second. How close???
My big concern is the wet weather. Will the Honda Civic R (FK8) perform the way the boys need it to. I have my fingers crossed.
You can watch all of the action today on ITV4 from 11:00am
