Armed Forces Veterans in the UK will soon be given ID cards to formally recognise their service, it has been revealed this morning.
The scheme will be officially announced at tonight’s ‘Millies’ awards which recognises achievements by individual members of the Armed Forces and Veterans.
It was proposed by Tobias Ellwood MP to role out the cards as part of the UK driving licence, marking them with a ‘V’. Those that do not drive will be given their own individual ID cards.
It is hoped the new licence will be rolled out next year.
